Your absolutely right! I was thinking of throwing them on there and going to a local meet. Only problem is i dont yet have adjustable upper control arms so getting the front to fit would be too much of a pain.

                  • Update on the civic sorry no pics

We started the engine Saturday!!! And although it sounded terrible because only headers were attached everything seemed to be A ok. Next weekend were pulling the engine back out and doing some body work and then she is off to the paint shop hopefully by the end of this month/ beginning of february.

Also ordering my new springs tonight 1000 lb/in(front) 950 lb/in(rear)!!!

Nice! I had to run mine open header for like a month while I waited for a test pipe. It was DEFINITELY obnoxious, but not nearly as bad as most of the cars I hear running around. Haha

Do you have/Are you getting the Koni Race shocks? The Yellows are supposedly maxed out at around 600 (my fronts definitely felt beyond their limits with 800 lb/in springs), while the Race are made for the 1000 lb/in action. Just in case you didn't know, of course.

Yea i still need to locate the bottom half of the stock headers from like a junkyard or something. Im glad you mentioned the race shock thing cause i hadn't even thought about that. No i don't have the race ones and i really don't have any extra money to buy them considering there nearly twice as much:/ Lets hope they can handle it. Don't they come with a lifetime warranty anyways?

Oh, damn! You meant OPEN open header. Hahaha
Yeah, the cheapest I found the Race ones was like $215 a piece at TH Motorsports. I'd definitely suggest at least getting the fronts, once the funds are available! Gotta keep that oil pan safe.
The under-damped shocks will have more oscillation because it'll be compressing too much on the way down from bumps and such, due to the inability to rebound to the desired height like it should. Basically, a more mild-mannered form of cut springs. Haha In a lot of cases with slammed cars, it wouldn't be THAT big of a deal, since handling isn't on the top of the priority list. I'm all about minimizing the range of travel and keeping things as firm as possible, though, just to keep the important stuff safe. Just a heads up, since you're pretty much in the same boat as me.

And they DO have a lifetime warranty, but after reading through it, I'm sure they wouldn't honor it if they knew what the shocks had been through. If you can hide that, though, then you're in business!

Dang! Thats not a bad price especially if I'm only getting two of them. I will definitely be looking into them in the near future. Once the car gets painted and such it will really only be driven on the weekends. Ive spent far to much on it for it to be daily driven haha. So hopefully the shocks can hold up for a little while at least
