  • w124 build.

Picked up a pretty sweet w124 manual. originally it was an AMG package, but the fairings and everything has been removed by the PO and had some ghetto chrome rims. when i got it, chrome rims were the first to go, replaced with oem 17" amg wheels. Wrapped the interior in carbon. preppping the car for a paint job. amg complete kit ready to be installed.

next Move on this project is air ride... i have 4 firestone Bags, 2 valves compressor and air tank... could some one point me in the right direction as the the diagram of how it all goes together? im new to air ride, but not new to air tools.. ??

    in mean time enjoy pikchurz

let me know if u guys can point me in the right direction for air ride... i was gonna ask the benz guys o the forum , but they dont take kindly to low Mercs and feel their opinion matters more than my decision.

im not sure what a 2 valves compressors are since those are 2 different things but ill help ya out.

    compressors fill tank
run lines from tanks to valves
run lines from valves to bags, T them off if youre only gonna run a 2 way set up.

is that what you were looking for?

thanks man, any help is great.
i kind of understand how the compressor and the tank work etc. however my question if for the valves. let me see if i follow you correctly, 4 valves means 1 per bag to allow independent movement of each wheel. 2 valves T'd off means 1 per 2 wheels, Like 2 move at same time in the front correct?
aside from the obvious air lines and psi gauges, what else do i need? any electronic components ?

well it depends on what kind of valves youre using.

if youre using electric asco/smc style valves in order to move all 4 corners independently you need 8 valves. 4 fill valves and 4 dump valves. if you use 4 electric valves you have to T the lines to the front and rear bags since you only have 2 fill and 2 dumps.

besides valves compressor bags and tank its pretty much guages, switch box of sorts, pressure switch (to turn off comp. at a certain psi) and water traps.

Nice! Always wanted to bag my W124. Smoked headlights look good. What motor is in this? Are the AMG's the final choice of wheels? If so the tyres look a tad big to me?

the tires will be replaced soon with a little bit of a stretch .. the rears are too big right now ... id like to stick with the amg, perhaps a different set. i have 2 sets of amg wheels, these are off a cl and another set i have is the oem 300e amg set. heres a cloudy photo of them

for some strange reason the center of the bumper was cut out... so i had to fabricate my own lip.

a little lower with H&R sport springs.

                      finished bumper with priper on.

The rear spoilers center peace was missing. So i had to fabricate my own, turned out quite well. even to my surprise.

AAAAnnnnd off to the paint shop...

                      Before!!!

                      AFTER.

more pictures coming once the car is fully assembled.

Awesome, didn't like the CF at first, being an old car and all, but starting to like it now.
Can't wait to see pictures of the finished car!
