  • Audi A4 B6 avant - trying to get it right

Been reading this forum for a while so decided now to put out a topic of my "build". A car is 2003 model, FWD with 1.9 tdi AWX engine and a 5-speed manual box. Colour is mingblau mica and the car is "equipped" with full blue interior. Audi is used on a dailybasis and it picks up about 40 000 km/year. I've had this car a bit over a year now and couple of little mods have been done to make it look a bit more to my liking. Listed below are the most important ones (like changing bulbs and stuff :P).

It's sitting on FK Highsport (cheapish-rubbish) coilovers.

Wheels are BBS RT138 'Classix' 18x10 allround. According to TÜV-papers they are made to fit Porsche Cayenne (in witch they would look small and ugly). I am a bit of a rim-geek and wanted something that doesn't appear too often. To be honest I think I got the only set of theese in Finland and to my knowledge I got the only "non RS" B6 in Finland with 10" at front. I got few other sets (Schmidt CF, Amg monoblocks...) to this one as well but since i got the tens in the front there is no coming back.

There are tons of things that i should do to it, but driving as much as I do just the maintenance takes enough time.

The basic idea in the mods done to this thing is to make it look nice, but nothing too special. Sort of an OEM and "old fart"-look but with a f*cked up twist.

So already bored? Some pics? - there will be better ones someday ...maybe.

well I'm not sure about that wheels on that car...

it's not bad..but it just don't seems perfect to my eyes...maybe with less visible tyres would improve the look..

The wheels are splitting oppinions. Especially the lack of lips seems to be the big no no to some. I myself just love the fuchs-style desing and the fact that they are pretty rare. To my eye the specs (especially the width) is spot on. And 'cos I gotta drive a lot (and the smaller roads in Finland are kinda crappy) I can't go to 35 profile or I'd have to raise the car - so no can do.
        Anyway thnx for the comment.

Just some old crappy ones... I'll clean it properly tomorrow so I'll try to remember to take pics. But basically everything apart from gray roof is navyblue: carpets, seats, doors, dash, steeringwheel, gearstick... It's a bit weird (beeing a factory ordered optional extra) to be honest. But to the 'old fart'-theme it fits.

there is no chance of paint the wheels?

maybe in white or in the same colour as the car...

with my comment I was not saying that the wheels are ugly lol, I really like them, just dont know if they are the perfect ones for your car. But they just need to seem perfect to you

There is no chance to paint the wheels.

No signifigant progress. Did the classic b6 fenderbolt deletion to save the front fenders. I also "hot taped" the insides of the fenders to protect them from scrap going in from the hole where the bolt was as well as protect the paint in the unlikely case of scraping. Should propably roll them, but since there is no scraping now - why bother. So no progress but since I took some "proper" pics of my monstertruck today I decided to post them.
And of course the interior is already completely f*cked up so no blue photos. Instead i offer you guys two galleries with same photos but different ammount of postprocessing. Highly recommend that you check them out in "full size" ...Hope u like 'em.

                Gallery 1.

Nothing too spectacular going on in here - had the front of the car risen up for few weeks.
For two obvious reasons a.) I had to get it in to ferry to sweden packed with 3 people, large dog + loads of gear and b.) when I came back home I left to Germany leaving the car for my dad. I bet he would have loved the feeling of beeing stuck on a speedbump... When I did rise the car I checked the bottom of it through and found out that the rear part of subframe is the bit that gets stuck everywhere. After losing couple of mm's thickness it's shining - tdi superleggera in the making...

Fixed also the bottom plastics and "slightly" bent exhaust heat shield a bit as well. Lifted the car up from the rear a bit as well and instantly the rear just feels so much better. Maybe it's because the rear springs now got some tension as well.

So luckily I got the car back to some kind of a stance last weekend. Wrapped the Turkish (FTW?) fake leather bra - enhanced with brittish support sticker - upfront and did some waxing. So it now looks like this (the bra just fits a bit better now - who gives a ****):

I'm still rolling with stock fenders (only classic front "fenderbolt" removal) and there are very little if any problems. So probably only gotta repaint them from the inside just to protect them from the winter and roadsalt.

So do I - more speed so it doesn't get stuck
Seriously bags would be awesome, but I use the audi as a daily (+20k ml/year) and during the winter it has to survive outside in temperature as low as -20F so the water collection system in the air suspension should be beyond my reasoning. Friend of mine is actually testing bags for winter use during next winter so I will be propably wiser next spring.
