Did some more work, while bored....aaaat work. All along I was planning on swapping all the suspension and steering components from the M to the non-M, one piece at a time. Today, I came downstairs from my office, took a look out in the parking lot, and thought, "why the hell would I do something so silly?"
So today I dropped the entire front sub frame with steering, control arms, shocks and springs(M only since the non-M already didnt have these on), tie rods, brakes, etc, off both cars. I did the sway bars too, but not attached to everything. Then, rather obvious in the pictures, all the M stuff went on to the non-M car. One step further on the swap!
Also, my Broadway Static coils should be here soon. They will go on after the swap. Getting the car on jacks or on a lift is much easier with the stock M stuff.
The stock e36 front assembly.
The M stuff all installed. (Brake fluid EVERYWHERE, lol)
by this rate you should be done in late 2019 early 2020
*edit, not meant to be rude. tho hurry up and finish it! and anything new with the e28?
Not rude at all. I joke with my friends all the time saying, "Just another 3 years until it's done!"
Unfortunately the e28 had some rust I didnt know about and the rear diff "wishbone" rusted through where its mounted to the body. It's waiting patiently, oxidizing more and more until I finish the e36. I do however have an air setup for the front waiting to be installed, so that'll be cool.
