Yeah I agree, wrinkle black looks sick as it is.

wrinkle black for sure.
or, do the white on the manifold and color match red the timing, throttle and related covers
either way, your z is the tits. I keep seeing other 32's and all I can say is it's not near the caliber of this machine, kuddos

thanks so far for the opinions. here are more of my thoughts
Wrinkle black is most likely what is going to happen again for the manifold. For my initial inspiration, the motor has always been a black and white theme, and will stay that way, as i think it conveys the theme quite effectively.
simple, raw, minimalist. also attention grabbing without being obvious or showy. Yes, it is a show car, but that doesnt mean it has to have chrome on everything to grab attention. Notice there isnt a single ounce of chrome anywhere on this vehicle. and there never will be
I took this picture a few months ago, and this sums up what i picture when i see the current color combination between the car and my interpretation of the form. simple and effective - only contains its core elements. Motor in a bay, nothing else..
i love this shot. almost menacingLast edited by 1badg35; 03-01-2012, 09:58 PM.sigpic

alright, so things have been swamped, but the car is getting done... I am building quite a few sets of wheels for customers cars, building a set for my brothers e21, finished up 3 sets this weekend(including a set for my buddy Walt's e36 m3), designed and am prototyping a new billet bag mount for a coilover setup, and the wheel line i am starting is moving forward. prototyping should be happening in a matter of days. Lots of stuff happening at full speed
so..
dont mind the messy bay. i disassembled the front coils, removed the pillowball upper mounts, had them powdercoated pearlescent white to match, pressed back in the spherical bearings, all of the nuts were powdercoated gloss black, and now they are back on the car
intake manifold is almost done... pics soon
since i was powdercoating some small stuff, did the coil pack brackets and a bunch of other little brackets in gloss black as well.
more as soon as i can find a few seconds to finish up some more stuff.sigpic

Lots of crazy stuff happening for us all, but yeah I am trying to move forward with establishing a company that allows for designs to come to life and then make it out to the market in small, very unique quantities.. I am going to try to make it down there for sowo. Most likely am going to go with a few friends, and likely not in the Z. haha
a little progress on the manifold. runner 6 is now welded in and ready to be smoothed. now for all of the other holes...
should be able to knock it out by early next week and have it back from powdercoat by end of week. oh and wrinkle black it isLast edited by 1badg35; 03-08-2012, 10:52 PM.sigpic

This 300zx i crazy good looking! I really like how you have hiden all the ugly stuff around the engine!
I thought that my 300zx engine bay was nice until i saw this.( http://www.garaget.org/?car=31643 )

yeah minimizing the bay and the motor components is an addiction at this point.
case in point
started smoothing and shaping the 6th cyl runner. now to finish welding up the holes, and i can have it coated, and install the fittings for the balance tube reroute. almost there

Porsche Carrera GT seats covered to match your interior? OG Porsche or replica? Nice score!"Strive for perfection in everything you do. Take the best that exists and make it better. If it doesn't exist, create it. Accept nothing nearly right or good enough."
