Heres a recent shot from 2016 - I've since left SD and live in Chicago now
Had a 5 page feature in Mercedes Enthusiast March 2016
Didn't think I'd ever sell however I ended up selling it few weeks back and picked up a coupe w111

Really love this beast. Im sure it's been an inspiration for many W108 owners.
I have a blue 1971 3.5 V8 model and absolutely love it. I'm wondering, with your bag brackets, do you have them bolted or welded in? Or does the pressure of the bags keep them in place, much like the original spring?

Your w108 inspired me to buy one, which I did. I just had air ride installed and ran into a snag with the battery and alternator not able to keep up with the dual compressors. I read in your post that you also had a similar issue. I took my alternator to get rebuilt and the guy said that the highest amps he could make it is 55. I don't think this will be enough since both compressors at max use 40 amps each. What did you end up doing to solve this issue with battery and alternator handling the compressors running at idle?

This car inspired me to join this forum and search craigslist for one… This car is pure sexiness… My first car was an 1985 300D in butter yellow in High school like 11 years ago... It was given to us and i thought it was embarrassing to drive at first.. i guess because everyone was into hondas and acuras. Ended up cracking the head blasting it on the freeway all those times i was late for school… Slow till you hit 45 then after that your flying haha. Ended up selling it to the guy that picked it up to junk it for $300. Didn't appreciate it as much as i do now. And looking at this car makes me miss the solid old school feel. Great build and i hope to find one just as clean. Cheers!

Beautiful car. Drive it to Las Vegas, sell it to me and I'll buy you a plane ticket back to Cali....
