Modified my thermostat housing today to clear the side draft manis with the help of my good friend Curt_PNW. He did the TIG welding for me. I just need to work on the exhaust manifold now.

    More progress soon.

      This, that, and the other.

So I have been making a lot of progress lately. I have been doing all the necessary modifications to make my dual carbs fit and function. One of those mods was to cut the "stove" off the stock exhaust manifold and weld in a plate. Not only does this make it perform much better but allows it to clear the carburetors. My friend Curt_PNW did the welding and it was tricky. It was mild steel onto cast iron but with patience and some nickel 99 rod he made it work.

Anyway here is the photos the motor should be in by this weekend.

            This car...

I will say one thing- the roof rack needs to go. The rest of the car flows and rocks so hard, but the useless bars going across the roof look... stupid.

Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to seeing the final product.

This build is amazing! Always had a soft spot for mantas, my dad had a few of them when i was young. Wheel choice is awesome too. Subbed!

I will attempt to fit the rear bags soon! I need to get some pics and a video too since the motor is in and running.

I agree that the roof rack ruins the lines of the car but I actually do use it lol. I am really into biking and it gets used to haul my fixed gear around, or my girlfriends bike.

                  More progress soon!

Alright so photos and video as promised! I will try to get a drive by video soon but I'm waiting for my air filters to come in the mail.

I took the roof rack off and think it really cleaned it up. I also added what is sort of becoming my trade mark. One yellow fog light.

Here was my last car when the fog light thing started.

                    Just before I sold it.

And the video. I had just started it up and was running without the starter circuit so the idle is a little doggy. You get the basic idea though.

That would be sick! Quite the drive though. Not sure if I'm up for that yet. We'll see.

Well thank you. Are you talking about the Manta or the Datsun? The Datsun looked really cool but in all honesty was a piece of sh*&.

So scanning craigslist like I always do I came across some seats and I just got back from picking them up. They are going to look so much better than what I have right now. They also have way more adjustments. I will probably attempt to fit the passenger seat on Tuesday since I have the day off. For $100 I can't complain they are in pretty good condition.

                                more progress soon.
