  • just another cheap daily aiming low

soo i thought i might start a build thread for my new e36 i brought a couple a weeks ago its nothing flash just a cheap daily aiming for the lowz and some sweet sweet flushness,
when i brought it it was in full granny spec 100% unmodafied right down to the bmw tape player, its my first bmw so im enjoying getting to know her as i go. anyway enough talk heres some pics

    how i brought it

then after owning it for a week i brought and fitted a set of bc coilovers for better handaling and the lowz 10kg springs up front and 8 rear and adj cambertops
    [IMG][/IMG]
    [IMG][/IMG]
the stocky 16x7 rims just wouldnt cut it so after tossing up between 17s or 18s i decided on a cheap set of konig rims in 18x9.5+35 all round to fill the guards a little better so far iv fitted em with 225x40 but im still considering going smaller but ill work with these for now,
iv rolled the guards to suit at the moment but now i need to get my guard roller fixed after i stripped the thread on it trying to pump the rears woops
    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]
at this point im a little disapointed at how high it is still so
iv ordered spacers for the front to allow the spring pearch to drop down past the rim for a bit moar low but im not shore what im gunna do in the rear yet, iv never been much of a fan of the rake look although its starting to grow on me.
to help it handle a little better and for moar adjustment iv allso just fitted some powerflex bushes in the front and adj camber arms in the rear

    [IMG][/IMG]
oh and i allso fitted that shitty black ebay grill but im not content with it yet and not shore which directin ill go with it but i think i will change it again and just to make the most of her and to make her feel loved iv allso replaced all filters and chucked in some mobil 1 just gotta get some moar oil when i get a chance and change the gearbox and diff oils aswell,
so yeah thats it so far feel free to let me know what you think all comments are welcome cheers lowe

    E36

my 15mm spacers showed up today so i chucked em on and tweaked the front camber to suit, so iv got the frushness i was after but just not the lowness looks like some 215 35 or 225 30s might have to be purchased for the front im just not shore yet which size, and iv got some more spacers ordered for the rear iv just gotta man up a bit and introduce my grinder to the inner guards before re rolling

very nice e36 man, wheel fitment is spot on for me, especially the front one. Which area are you from, never seen this car around before?

15mm doesnt look necessary on the front. Id replace it with a 5mm to get the clearance you need from the strut and wind it down loads more. THEN it will look killer.

                    Thanks alot.
All ive done is cut out the lip completely that folds under the arch. I used an air powered buzz saw so it was a nice clean cut, then i used an abrasive wheel on a grinder to make the edge smooth and burr free. I still had to slightly flare the arch using an crowbar, I did this by mounting the wheel and using the tyre as a pivot point, it was easy to flare as the metal work will flex alot more easily now the folded lip as been cut away completely.

                      mo gard work "sigh"

had some spare time today so i had another crack at the guards made the front a bit more agresive to suit the 15mm spacers and allow me another 5mm of lowness lol every mm counts
                      [IMG][/IMG]
                      [IMG][/IMG]
then cut this shit out of the back lol
                      [IMG][/IMG]
fitted some 10mm spacers so the rear rims are sitting where i want em but i ran out of time and had to take em back off cus it still needs another 5mm or so of flare to stop the rim hitting the guard
                      [IMG][/IMG]
so yeah now im 100% happy with the front just gotta finish the rears when i get a chance

which adjustable camber arms did you pick up? Not the turner ones im used to seeing. I need a pair!
