  • Vlad's Montreal Blau e36 328i sport coupe

    hello every one.
I've been browsing this forum for a long time now and am quite a fan of some the rides on here so thought it was about time to make an intro!
my name is Vlad, i'm 23, originally born in western Ukraine but now live in UK.
i've been into bmw's for last 15 tears and working on them for the last 8! so far i owned over 10 e36's, never owned anything else than an e36

heres how i started off, my first ever car was a 1994 316i coupe that i pretty much built from scratch

    mods:
    m3 front end
    m3 rear end
    m3 mirrors
    powerflow straight through
    clear indicators
    full respray
328i front and rear brakes (with trailing agms)
    koni springs with bilstein shocks
    k&n with a chip
seats and bottom half of the dash retrimmed in white leather with black piping
alpine head unit with inphase speakers all round
    Clifford alarm
    UUC carbon spoiler.
    shnitzer type 3 reps 18
neon gauges (it was cool back then) lol

then i'd bought my first 328i sport, it was an individual finished in glacier green (only 7 registered in uk in that colour) with a very high spec

heres how i bought it in 2006

    mods:
    m3 lip + bumper grill
    ac schnitzer mirrors
    bbs style 5s 18x8 front 18x9 rear
first eibach pro springs kit then coilovers
    eibach strut brace from US
    gruppe m induction kit
big bore throttle body and traction controll and big inlet manifold (m50)
    schrick top end cams
    remus exhaust
    a ridiculous remap!
    2.93:1 LSD
ebc ultimax brake discs and ebc red stuff pads all round

was dyno'd at 262bhp at flywheel NA!

santa pod raceway when it ran 14sec flat

heres what it looked like before we parted

then i went through a faze of just buying and selling cars as i couldn't find the right one for me untill i got this

and heres hot it looks today 9 months later

i'll post a few more pics of how it got to this stage
    hope you like it

couple pics from santa pod raceway
                  managed 14.8sec

the manifold and exhaust are now on and full camber upfront about 3deg

how the wheels sit against the arches

                  and finally the porkas!

on right is the rear pad that is supposed to be used with these calipers and on left is the front pad that has been trimmed to fit the calipers

                  so then

                  before:

                  compared:

                  during:

                  after:

and how she stands right now

                  and a couple more stickers

as always any comments and questions are welcome

Mega. Love the brakes. Any hassle involved installing Porka brakes?

                      cheers mate.
it was a bit of head ache tbh. they're off a 996 (rear). a friend of mine is an engineer, he has mil and a lathe in his shed at home so he made the brackets for me as you cant just get them off the shelf. measuring and lining it up was a bit tricky but we got there in the end and also we had to shave off a few mm of the calipers as they weren't close enough to the discs then modify 996 front pads to fit into the calipers for a better contact patch.
                      took a while! lol
