Bought her in Feb 2010
Stock 1.8 16v kr, Recaro interior, repaint in summer 2009, full service history, 130k miles, 6.5j rm’s
Wasn’t perfect but not a bad base car to improve on and put my own stamp on

I ditched the rm’s for the wider ones, changed the coilovers for FK’s and she sat like this for a while;

Had a refresh for DC10 with black rm’s, coilies wound down and camber shims on the rear;

Bought a milltek 4 branch and jetex 2.5” system;

Was loving the new exhaust for all of 1 week then the engine decided to eat itself, sounded like a bag of bolts
Big end shells has scores in them, proper broken.
I decided to take the engine out and do the bay how I’d always wanted it.
Decided on a semi smoothed look
With the help of my mates, we started stripping the engine down and the condition of the bay was discovered...

Lovely amounts of rust!

Cracking on with the engine bay;

Started prepping the spare kr lump I had...

More work on the bay;

Satin black gearbox;

Stripping out the interior/ welding work on the bay

While all that was going on I picked up a 2.0 16v 9a and gave it the same satin black treatment as the planned kr

Back from paint;

Powder coated goodies – all thanks to Voodoo, Herts

This is how she is at the minute, nearly built up;
- Semi smooth bay, wiring tucked, battery relocated
- Custom SFS fabric wrapped hoses
- Mk1 top fill radiator
- Mk3 alternator/power steering setup
- Vibratech uprated front engine mount
- New bosch injectors, clutch, suspension bushes, sump, disks and pads, brake pipes, gear linkage, power steering reservoir, speedo cable and loads more I’ve probably forgotten...

Loads of new bits to go back on;

Still a few weeks away yet, but after nearly 8 months of me and my mate’s blood sweat and tears she’s nearing completion. Yay.
Can’t wait to bolt up the new wheels either, she's going to sit nice
