Nice build man, so youre going to run a 9A bottom with a PL head? Or are you using a MK2 GTI KR head for it? Bottom cant be the ABF one cause the 16V 1.8 heads dont fit on these, do they?

            Keep it up!

the 1.8 head will bolt directly on the 2.o 9a bottom end aswell as the abf bottom end they are reletively the same head just bigger ports

I knew that the 1.8 heads fit the 9A bottom..recently did some research cause i might be rebuilding my engine in winter (running a stock 9A atm). But you should throw a 9A head on there cause the 9A heads have bigger outlet ports. You can widen the inlet ports and run a KR inlet camshaft...should be the best solution from what ive read so far.
I also found the following set up putting out 182whp compared to 136 factory, if youre interested:

                ABF bottom
9A head, heavily modded, bigger valves, in- and outlet ports widened to max
                276° Schrick camshafts
                Big KR manifold widened
                ABF header
                lightened flywheel
                9A factory injection
                2,5'' exhaust system
