The ES exhaust is actually holding up pretty well. I drove the car in the snow with it once, and its going to be 3 years old this september. Some of the pipes have little "dots" (I can't think of a better word...) of corrosion, but most can be brushed off. Of course the clamps have rusted after a winter in that shitty garage, but overall its a good quality product. The rear muffler is also stainless steel. I'm debating on doing the cam. The T25 is a small turbo for a 2.0, and it runs out of steam around 5500 anyways. Its like the stock powerband but 10 times stronger lol... Not sure a cam would help the top end if the turbo can't push the air anyways. (would be cool if someone could tell me the truth here, I kinda guessing this)

So far the clutch is holding that 9-psi-strong kick pretty good. The torque rush you get at 3000 RPM is tremendous. There are a lot of (very steep) hills around here, I almost put the car in the barrier the other because of the torque steer (which isn't tamed by the funky suspension geometry lol) while ripping the throttle open in 2nd going uphill

I also got a test pipe to remove the 1.75" cat lol. Its now 2.5" from the turbo back then into the 2.25" exhaust. Spool up is a little quicker, it pops and burbles on deceleration, shoots flames sometimes and the new sound is more vocal and deeper. And it smells like a snowmobile lol. Overall its badass.
I should take new pictures soon, there's lots of nice locations around here. I should go to my first meet in this new city on wednesday.

For now, here are 3 pictures from a meet in Montreal before I left about 1.5 months ago.

    I was parked next to a super-clean 635csi

And at another meet the next day

        • Here's my Eurokracy update... 3 weeks late haha!

9:00 in the morning, meet up with friends at the Julep.

First people in the 30-something car convoy thought it would be a good idea to drive 140 km/h in a 70 zone, it broke up the convoy right at the beginning...

Got there, took the hood off. We found out that a Mk4 Supra hatch is just about the perfect size for a Mk2 VW hood too.

Then we changed parking spots. Parked on asphalt instead of mud. Told the girls they would have to wait, wheels needed to be cleaned first.

Finished the day with the cool limbo/speedbump dodging contest with my friend's Miata. Missed the win by like 0.25". Got an awesome picture though.

All in all it was a really cool weekend. Saw some dope cars, met chill people, got a huge sunburn. 10/10, would do again.

          • After many months of having the headliner fabric sag on my head while I'm driving, I finally re-did it. Tip: do NOT use 3M Super 77 for doing this. I used Permatex glue this time and it's great. My super-trendy, south-florida drift scene-esque fabric holds good. Here are the pics:

Meanwhile, I also snapped a picture of what you see when you drive this thing:

And finally, after right around 5000 km of abuse, the OEM clutch finally started slipping. Total clutch mileage: 20 000 km lol. I had this Clutchnet unit that I ordered this winter. Time to install it (unfortunately I won't be doing it myself as I don't have the tools/space around here).

                • Good news....

                  I decided to keep it!!!

...not like anyone was into buying it anyways

So that means I have to take care of a couple of issues. First, it started burning oil at idle at the end of the summer. I drove the car back home and parked it for about a month, driving it a couple of times only. Oil was also leaking from that cheap-ass drain line since day one, and recently it started leaking right at the turbo, making smoke from under the hood. So I started evaluating my options, thought I could just use that T25 rebuild kit that has been collecting dust here since last August to get the car back on the road...

But hey, where's the fun in that?

So I got myself one of them jawns:

Ebay T28, .42/.63, 40 trim. A friend of mine has been running an Ebay T3/T4 for 3 years now without issue on his 626, I thought I should try my luck too Build quality looks good so far, I'll see more when I open it up to clock it this weekend.

Next on the list would be getting all the appropriate fittings and lines (I'll run the watercooling this time around) and see how that thing makes the top end scream...

And yes Phil, we should totally do that! But I don't know when it'll be ready though...

Next season we'll be stealing the show at them Julep meets haha!

Weather wasn't really nice these last few days, so I worked inside the house on a few thing. First was clocking the turbo. Those turbos are made to be bolt on on SR20's, they need to be clocked to work on my setup. I got the housings and CHRA free and started to mock up things. I still need to get the oil return flange to be 100% certain of the housing's positions and then I can bolt it back together. I also got the old turbo off the car:

The thing was leaking oil... and exhaust

The exhaust leak must have been because of this crack. This is when I first installed it. People told me the worse it would do was increase spool time. It probably got worse with time.

As you can see, they're almost the same size. However, the new compressor wheel is a 50 trim instead of a 40 like the old one. And the turbine is slightly bigger with a .63 A/R ratio.
I will also be putting the wastegate actuator "under" the comp housing like on my old turbo instead of "over" it (see my previous post). I had to shorten the arm and also drill new holes.

I recieved the oil return line parts. Found out I ordered 2 fittings wrong and the line is too big (kinda wierd, inside is the correct diameter but the outside won't fit inside the fitting...)

More progress to come this week!

                            • I didn't have much time to work on it this week because school has been taking most of my time, but I did recieve a few parts to clock the turbo. Then I went to install it and found out the nuts I bought to bolt it to the manifold were the wrong pitch! Also, the new oil feed fitting I bought is also wrong!

And some guy contacted me to trade my wheels for a set of RS.... et0 and 16x6.5, but 4x100. I'm REALLY tempted, even with the et0. Lack of width doesn't bother me.
