One new picture, still haven't found time (or money) to swap over to the new tires, been kinda lazy with the car lately because I'm in between jobs and not going to H20i. Should have more to talk about a bit later this fall once the money starts flowing again, just decided to snap a pic because I washed it today.
Got the 205/45 512's put on today as many had requested. Still running just the 15mm in the back but it definitely needs the 20mm out back to sit even front to back and to fit the fenders a bit better in the rear, maybe I'll get some extended bolts for the 8mm spacers I have for the front too.
Measured my Ground to Fender clearance today also with the smaller tires
22 3/4" Front
23" Rear
I should have no problem bringing the rear down another 1/2-1 inch and then the fronts down another 1/4-1/2 also. And no more rubbing either, had to scrape some rubber off the inside of the rear fenders but I sure am going to miss getting calls from friends driving behind me telling me every time I hit a bump or dip in the road that my fenders smoke due to rubbing along with the heavy smell of burning rubber.
do you have some closer pictures from the front with the new tires?
thanks a lot for all the specs you mentioned earlier, i struggle to find the right size of wheels for my V70, especially for the front.
plan to run 8x17 et?? and 205/40, it will also depends if i need adapters.
Anyway, i really love to see a nice stanced Volvo S70, it's really awesome!

Thanks man!
I'll snap some iPhone pics of the front "fitment" with the 205/45 tires and the 17x8 ET20
thanks, really appreciate!
you run D2 coilovers isn't it?
Yeah, they're one of the only decent options for these Cars. I've still got room to lower the front more and the rears have other springs to help to get it lower. Still over an inch of adjustment in the rear.
thanks for the infos!
i plan to run some cheap coilovers next season before going to bags in 2014.
it will be enough just to get back at the "stance" game.

TA coilovers are the only real "cheap" coilover solution. Then you could do a bag over coil setup with the TA coilovers. I originally wanted to bag my car, but no one is really low and static anymore because everyone that wants to have the right fitment and go low gives up on coilovers and goes to bags.
Here are those pics I told you I'd snap, I definitely need to put some spacers on the front (as well as more on the back).
That's 205/45-17 Falken 512's on a 17x8 ET20 wheel, no fender liners, rolled front fenders. Hope that helps!
Thanks!
that helps a lot, really!
17x8 with 205/40 will let me a lot of room to lower the car, that is great!
i might consider some 8,5 as well watching the offset...
i plan to buy the TA coilovers, they're something like 300€ over here and yes i plan to do a bag over coil conversion to be able to set the ride height and comfort height at its best without being crazy high to have comfort... i'll see that in 2014... i have enough to buy for 2013 with wheels, tires, adapters and suspension...
i can't decide myself on a set of wheels... TSW Hockenheim 17x8, AZEV A 17x8, BMW style 44 17x8, Opel 7,5x17 (they are 5x110), Saab and so on...
Anyway, i'm glad to find someone sharing infos in the small world of the lowered/stanced 850/S/V70.
Thanks!

You're very welcome! I know some of the Volvo guys don't like to talk about their secrets on width/tire etc because they don't want people directly copying them and taking their hard earned information, the way I see it is if I give someone the knowledge (of course not ALL of it) they can take that knowledge and build another "stanced" volvo which only makes people realize these cars more and yadda yadda (thats the marketing student in me talking, no publicity is bad publicity)
But yeah, if you have any questions feel free to PM me whenever whatever (except nudes, no dude nudes at least)
17x8 is a good easy size to get on the car with a bit of stretch and get semi flush, but I wish I could find some decent 17x8.5 or even 18x8.5 wheels to work with. The hardest part is finding something that looks good and of course will fit. Theres tons of wheels off of other manufacturers that with adapters could look good, but many of them the offsets just wont work out (mainly BMW wheels). I used to have 205/40 on the front on my old wheels, there just wasn't quite enough cushion for me and I ***** hitting any crack in the road and the load rating wasn't much more than the weight of my car so I quickly bubbled a sidewall hitting some potholes and cracks and shit.
That makes two of us! I'm pretty sure it wont be hard to get the rear to do it, but the front might be a different story! I might have to go out and dump the rear of the car just to see how low my current setup will go.
In other news, on my way home from class today, had a wild piece of tire appear in-front of me and its threw a Pokeball and captured my front lip.
I dragged it for probably 2 miles before getting off at the next available exit.
Only one clip held half of it to the car so I was lucky it didn't end up in the grille of the minivan driving behind me. I'll get it epoxied back together tonight and back on the car with a fresh coat of 99 cent flat black.
