Insurance in the UK sucks balls. Any mod (by mod it means different from how it rolled from the factory, so tinted indicators, even colourcoding doorhandles technically) has to be declared, and if you are under about 27 now they use this an excuse to rape you anally without any form of lube.

Some insurers will let you have anything cosmetic as long as the power doesn't increase. Lowering is tricky though, partly cosmetic, but is also a moving part. My old insurers said to factor in about 5-10% increase for each modification. So lowering was an extra £100, wheels, £100, exhaust £50.

Haha im lucky i got a lot of money for my 18th birthday.. which is now gone all on the car but it doesnt matter to me.. i wouldnt change how i speant it!

And i do get anally raped on insurance.. everything declared im paying like £1600ish ... well they think my cars lowered less than 5cm :P which isnt exsactly true!
im insured with admiral.. next year though ill probably be going with HIC
