Hey everyone, made an intro thread and posted a few of these pics there but figured i would start a build thread cause there will be lots of ongoing stuff from now on, with the new job at a better more busy tattoo shop than before, YES!

Anyway, I got this from a little dealership for 3500, its my first real car ive bought for myself and im super happy with my choice.

Car - 2002 automatic passat wagon, Ink blue with Beige interior and "sweet classy" wood trim. V6 Fwd model.

    changes so far -
    - Nex Sportline coilovers, bottomed out in the back, and still about 2 inches of thread in the front to go. I plan on Airbagging it within the year, which i why i didnt go for more expensive coils. They ride pretty damn good for $500 coils, not too rouch and not bouncy.

    - resprayed black on all the black trim on the bottom, they were starting to grey out pretty bad.

    - debagded the rear with the exception of the vw logo, which i prepped and sprayed matte black.

    - Nightshaded the tail lights, about 2-3 coats of it, still pretty bright in the dark. (havent been pulled over yet )

    - ebay after market intake, gave it a little kick off the line and only costed about 50 bucks , so overall im happy with it.

    To come -
    Airbagging
    wheels of course
    roof rack
    wood floors through out
    stereo
supercharger down the road a little bit (prob next winter)
Hand built exhaust from headers back *in the works as we speak* should be done in about 2 weeks
    headliner
    reupholster seats and floor

thats it for now, im sure more and more will load on as it always seems to do.

    Pics below! Thanks for reading!

Taillights look ugly and cheap, otherwise it's got potential.

I really like the color combination. Blue & Creme. I tried so hard to find a creme interior. But I ended up with a cool color exterior and a light gray interior. It worked out while it lasted. Sadly I am parting it out. It used to look like this.

I'll keep an eye out for your build! Best of luck!

Don't be down. It's just a general thing with tinted lights like that. The way the lights become opaque makes it really stand out and look cheapish.

You'd be better off sourcing some real smoked ligts. Though, I don't think there are any specific for the 3bg. There are some for the 3b though, and they fit physically, but you'll have to fab an adapter to get them to work because the 3b taillight electrics are a bit different.

My other suggestion would be to take some thinner or something and get that stuff off, then redo it carefully until you get a darker finish, but not opaque like that.

Other than that, some red tails would be nice.

My tails are European W8 Taillights. And I added a chrome ring to get it a different effect. I bought it from OEMplus.com

windsor blue? used to have a b5 wagon, yours looks good but I would go with all red tails instead of smoked if it were mine
