so i spent $31 on a LS460/600h japanese magazine "book" that lists all shit available for the car (it's a bit old, though -- published late 09)

i came across these kits. thoughts?

i really like the half bumper kits for this car (which means i can run the cool oem hid optional fogs), but the vlene looks so stock and the rear bumper is my favorite out of every kit i've seen (except the mode one <3). the quad exhaust tips look so good on the car too

the thing that sucks is that mercedes doesn't sell just the tip -- you have to buy the entire exhaust rear section. fml. i'm going to be trawling mbworld a lot for a used rear section over the next few months :P

so i just got back from my friend's lexus dealership (at 2:17 in the morning haha). turns out the harness is being weird on the data systems controller, and that's why the car was throwing AFS/height sensor codes. the ECU wasn't seeing a reading from the front height sensors. interestingly enough, a quick multimeter read of the harness showed it was OK, and after we put everything back together, the error disappeared. must've been a loose pin somewhere. hmm.

we also put in the 10.1 nav update for this car. holy shit. 22 pages of instructions and 1 hour later, we were done haha. here's an in-progress shot:

I dig the lip kit, but the fender vents are not my thing, and the diffusers are bit too plain, I always thought the LS should have more aero-style diffusers, agree with the exhaust tips as well.

yeah man, i agree with you on the fender vents -- i think they're a bit too boxy for a car with such an organic shape.

also, i agree with you on the diffuser -- the mode parfume rear diffuser is super boss (and carbon fiber, i think) but just that bumper costs about the same as this entire lip kit. fml

all i know is there was one that I detailed all the time last year, and i'll tell you, the rear floormats were more comfy and plush than the pillow i sleep on at night

so some dude alerted me to the freedom legion lip kit (damn that sounds cool, like an offshoot of the superfriends or something). thoughts?




i'm not 100% sold on the exhaust tips -- if i got this kit i'd probably bend something myself with tips off another car (AMG, perhaps)

and obviously, this isn't as cool as the mode setup, but it's also less than 1/3 of the price hahaha
