  • '96 GTI - Timeline

There's not any stance in this thread, just some low. Anyways, this is just a timeline of my car from when I bought it to now. Someday there will be some stance in this thread, but I had to spend my money that I was saving for wheels on fixing my blown headgasket. In case anyone was wondering about my username, it's the nickname that a friend of mine gave to my car. Anyways, onto the pictures:

    Check out that wheel gap

I got some FK streetlines about a month after buying the car.

Smoked turns + lowered the coils a little more.

Wiper delete, spoiler delete, and blacked out emblem.

    Random photoshoot.

Coils spun the rest of the way down with helpers still in.

Helpers out, coils all the way down in front. Jetta front end swap + smoked e-codes.

My friend's '98 DE with my GTI.

I machined myself a new wiper delete and some half strut caps to get rid of the ugly stock ones that stuck up about an inch over the strut towers.

    Shaved/primered hood.

Then I blew my head gasket right before I was about to finally buy wheels.

Front end came off to make everything easier.

And how it's sitting currently, waiting to be finished:

And finally, a cell phone shot with the engine cover on.

Great looking MK3. It looks 10x better lowered with the Jetta front end. Really looking forward to the rest of this build.

Exactly. It would be painted or vinyl wrapped if I had money, but school + a part-time job = no money.

how much would you be willing to part ways with your old front end for?
we have the same grill and same idea on our turns/fogs. why did you remove your fog covers?

I only have the badgeless grill left from the front end and it's bent a little. The driver's headlight was messed up, so I threw both headlights away and the hood is partially sanded down and now rusting What fog covers are you talking about though? I haven't done anything to my foglights at all.
