I saw a stock height vette scrape into a restaurant parking lot when I was dropping off my brother for work. I then scraped a lot more than him and became happy.
Yes, the 180 will be making an appearance at winto, but its not going to be looking anything flash at all. Had to raise the car up coz i can't turn the steering wheel.
Ok not much progress realy but took the front bar off the S3 parts car to start painting everything white for the conversion
No front bar
the front bar, under-headlight filler panel and grill
R3180?
and a random snap of the piggy, this is the lowest i can run her for drifting
note the amount of rubber on the guards, mirrors and windscreen
I started sanding the under-headlight panel, so i could try painting it and see how well it comes up
after wet sanding for an hr or so i think i got most of the stone chips out of the paint, but the weather has turned and started pouring rain, and i cbf painting in such hot humid weather
OK, so my door trims in the R31 are a pretty ugly blue color to match the pretty ugly blue color of the dash
they look something like this
except the vinyl on the top part of my doors is peeling away due to sun damage and wear over 20+ years
so i decided i will re-trim my doors later instead of putting in the good condition door trims from the other car, since i'm not a fan of the color anyway
now any suggestions of what type of fabric i should use for the top part?
it has to be durable and hard wearing and pretty easy to clean..
Yeah Daniel, I'm not Baller enough to afford a leather re-trim
Anyways onwards with the progress...
Today i did some sanding on the front bar, its a huge PITA coz there is quiet a large layer of bog laid over the plastic
And I also did some painting on the under-headlight filler panel
Pretty sure i stuffed it up a bit, but i might touch it up a little later
The paint color also doesn't exactly match the car color
Then i went to have a look at the parts car and see what i can work on or what parts i could use for my car and noticed this
I don't even have a cat and there is cat paw prints all over the bonnet...
Took out the door trims from one of the doors, so i could figure out a plan of attack for the re-trim
The pressed-cardboard backing of the door trims seems quiet old and tide and flexes a lot.
The plan is to replace that part with a sheet of 1.6mm aluminum or 3mm plywood
Thats all the progress thus far, i need to start fabric shopping to start on the re-trim
went out and bought some fresh MDF for the door cards, as well as spray on glue, staples and etc
and here is a new passenger side door card(not finished, still needs holes for the door handle, electric windows wiring hole, door light hole and a speaker hole
