  • mo diesils e30nomy build

so im startting the tear down of the e36 soon, and got tired of driving the over sized trd tundra most everywhere. so i picked up a low budget e30. to get some fuel economy in these times of rising gas prices i planed to buy a 540i/6 but have always wanted a e30.
    its a 91 4 door 318i.
165.000miles 5 speed of course. dont get me wrong its by no means mint condition, but fairly well kept, recent snow tyres, wich will help when it goes on the road in a couple weeks.
here some pics of when it was delivered to my house.
    existing mods include
    no radio head unit
    broken low beam lenses.
tinted tails (idk if i like them)
bilsteins all round bav lowering springs
    customs rear strut brace
tube headers with over sized magnaflow exhaust, sagging hangers.

the interior is actually in really good shape do want some black sport seats though

thats pretty much the starting point for this car, dont have any real plans for the car out side of maintenance and some coilovers down the rode

any one know of a good e30 coilover set? or is a G/C conversion about it?

Looks like it has some fairly substantial rot...!

Do you not want to get that sorted before spending any money on other things such as coilovers...?

yes that and the chipped windshield are on the top of my list with lights
it has pretty new springs and shocks
thats the only rot on the car

its really not even on the road yet

haha awesome, it seams really sturdy, this is my first e30, which is funny because the e30 is what got me into bmw's some 4 or more years ago, just always ended up in e36's.
the rockers on this car are mint along with the door jams and frame rails

coil overs are now installed front and rear i have them set half way and they ride amazing will update with pics tomorrow (as i dont have a camera and my phone for some reason doesn't connect with my comp)

on a side note anyone have any idea on what you can use for a lip on e30s? i dont want to get a 100+$ lip just to scrap it away, i have a home depot lip from a e36i might fit on but would like something a bit different
