if you gonna go American muscle LS > everything out there powerband/weight/parts and cheap etc. If you serious about it you can get SR up to 500hp cheap. But do what you please hah it would be interesting swap

I can get my hands on almost anything for a SBC for cheap! I'm going with the 355 due to the fact the car will be tracked every weekend in bracket races/ true 10.5 races. The pros to having a SBC compared to say a LS1, is the fact that 75% of bracket racers use a SBC. There is a crazy amount of back up parts at the track in the unfortunate event that you break something. Racers help racers but you're probably right I could build an SR for cheap but I'd rather not

I've wanted to build one for awhile. Its small and makes good power.

240hp stock. Mild porting and a cam.home made headers and your at 300whp. Not to mention add a turbo and you'd be close to 450whp @7psi.
