  • So I started this slooow E31 / 850CI BMW Build

This isnt going to be a typical "season" build for me...for a couple reasons:

1 - Parts for this car are expensive (im cheap!) or hard to find
2 - Im spread a bit thin (timewise) with other "projects"
3 - Did I mention that Parts for this car are kinda expensive & hard 2 find?

-------Some text copied from another forum thread--------

So Im building sum custom carbon parts @ the Lab.....

I just so happen to get a new set of rims to do tha daily with on my 8 series.

Im swapping the tires out....to FALKEN of course put the rim back on and started to thread the lug bolts to go for a test drive.

But Before I had a chance to use the impact gun, I went back to check on the autoclave.

uh, I forgot to torque down the bolts and drove the car

yup, the wheel came off and totally messed up the car

Needed a ton of new parts

BMW is quick to remind you (via parts pricing) that this was once their most expensive car. So I didnt just jum into it with all the other things I have goin on.

I ended up gettin all the parts and replacing whatever needed to be replaced on the suspension. Prolly couldve bought another car but I love this one.

        Touching up all the bodywork....

Ive got 2 other cars in the garage, so this one is tucked away in the back. I try to mess with it whenever I get a chance tho...

There are no companies that offer aftermarket Dampers for these cars, so I decided to make my own....

next up is a hybrid coilover / Air ride set up

            Layout...

            Mounted and plumbed

headed to the interior for a bit and then back to finish up the trunk
