Like I said- why not cut it off?

And what are you using to hold the springs? Keeping the original perch attached to the gutted casing?

      My old sn, god damn....

Honestly, im not trying to mess up $120 shocks. If I cut it off, im worried ill mess something up. Not to mention my whole warranty goes out the window.

Im using the whole skunk2 coilover sleeve kit. Should suit me well.

                  Small update-

The Bilstein's didnt work out. I exchanged them for a slightly different set; Bilstein Small Bodies. Differences include:
                  -6" Stroke, instead of 7
-11" tall fully compressed, instead of 13.2
                  -5.5/5.5 rebound/compression, instead of 5/5
                  -1 5/8" body, instead of 2.03

The good news is, they'll be here on Monday.

Yesterday I got to work on preparing the stock struts. I cut the stock spring perch and end link tab. Then shaved the welds. The end link is mounted fairly high on the protege. So high that to go low enough, you need to re-mount it. I haven't decided on whether i actually want to have it re-welded lower on the strut. Or just delete it all together.

if your shock tube is 2" OD then run agx's theyre short stroke so cutting and welding are involved. im running sw20 struts on my cressida. best investment

                      New struts have arrived!

As you can see there extremely short. Even shorter after i cut the ball joint off. I dropped them off at speedware today so they can weld in a sleeve to keep the strut still. When its all said and done, my total strut will be about a foot tall.
