hi, im not familiar with vws's, so can you tell/show us how the strut attaches to the chassis? there aren't bolts like there normally is on most cars, so presumably that top bit is a retainer that clamps it all together? if so, are you going to modify/replace that too? the bay looks amazing with what you've done with it, so that oem bit sticking up through the top looks kinda out of place? even maybe just a billet cover or something over it would look sweet.

on mk4 struts, the mounts bolt right to the struts, then they just sit in the mounting area on the body of the car. the caps sticking through just keep them from falling out if the suspension is completely unweighted.
