Pitman arm failed on the interstate last night. Didn't completely fall apart but the shaking was terribly violent. Shaking turned to knocking similar to the police knocking on a front door in compton, then we pulled it over thinking a wheel was about to come off. So the whole front end suspension steering parts are getting ordered and I gotta find a new method of transportation for a couple days.
BUT, its looks better and better! buffed the paint on the sides, back to black on the trim, polished all the body chrome, got tires (still have to paint the wheels and stuff, but at least they match now)
friggin awesome. I have been looking at nothing but e28's for the last month now its all I can think about it old bimmers lol nice work man, looking forward to the finished product.
Lookin' good so far! That interior is so unbelievably minty
yeah! and thanks. just wait till I finish detailing it and get some good quality photos of it. Its by far my favorite part of the car. I love being in it. Its like being at your super rich uncle's house and hanging out in his living room.
do i spy some possibly fender rolling on mikes car?
good guess, but no. The fuel pump is under that side of the car behind that wheel and he had a line wear through the other day so he was just replacing it.
Taped the kidneys for like 15 minutes only to realize they come apart, so I did that
Then painted those and the grilles
Then did some carpet shampooing and leather cleaning and stuff...
And buffed the paint to see what I could do with the terrible oxidization and lack of clear
The sides came out ok, but the trunk, hood and roof are super rough. I'll be painting it at some point for sure. One more just for an update of its current state
