Well i promised some pictures so here they are.

Poor thing is up on axle stands at the moment and will probably remain there for a good few months.

As you can see most pipework and ancilleries have been removed ready for the block to be lifted out, all thats left to dissconnect is the gearbox mounts and engine mounts.

This is the NA 2JZ to be put in, currently waiting for the mounts from the states and a metal headgasket and camblet kit.

The reason i chose a NA was quite simply that i wanted to turbo it, and it was cheap. But after extensive research the money that would have to be spent was to great and showed i should either buy a gte with that money or a different engine, so i got in contact with a mate and he suggested throttle bodies.

Ive never seen it on a 2jz before so thought why the hell not.

All sound deadening was stripped and ready for the cage and new interior paint job to match the engine bay!

BUT while stripping the interior i discovered some rot, not enough to put me off, just one area, but that area was big enough.

So i currently have the plate ready to weld in when i get a moment.

I also put a order in for some paint for the bay and interior in the form of bubblegum pink, just because i can.

How much does the weather stripping cost around the rear hatch? Also the plastic pieces next to the roll down windows.

Hey I Have a serious question about your supra!
Since I just purchased my first mk3 1987 toyota supra auto, performance long block, overhauled ct-26, I really need to work on the body work now.
Where do I begin,. First off, how did you paint your car with that flat green? Where did you find the green? is it rustoleum Spray can? I really want to paint over my peeling blue.
    Second of all
WEATHER STRIPPING. Where did you find the black weather stripping? mine is peeling around the rear hatch window, also I just need to find rubber that surrounds the rear hatch. Is there anyway you could please let me know how you got your weather stripping around the windows? because I know for a fact that your weather stripping had to be replaced. I need to know what to do with my weather stripping and where to find new weather stripping. It is peeled down to the chrome, chipped on the edges, ugly as hell. I NEED to know how you remove the windows and replace the rubber around them. Thank you!
    Ben

You're going to make a lot more HP after BPU and a mild tune with the 2J than you would on a 7MGTE after new HG, Arp studs, etc. I'm not too familiar with 1J's but i can imagine it'll be a better investment than another 7M.

Wow, this car has so much personality! And the engine swap will add even more to it Love your wheels and the way it looks sitting at the side of the road - very aggressive.

strange motors indeed, or the gx81's 1GGZE... supercharged 2.0 litre. Both pretty weak I'd rather an N/A 7m... more torque!
See the cheaper option would have been to 7mgte it but theyre notorious for head gasket failures and when this came up it was cheap enough with everything in a strong reliable motor so i thought why the hell not.

    Shes dead.

For 23 years the humble 7mge engine has taken abuse, and a sizable chunck from myself, but with regular maintenance its been ticking fine.

But one night changes alot. On the way back from a bad night the air filter fell off, on a wet road. Lots of random tat and water was sucked into the air intake and throttle body.

THEN as if to test me more, a couple of piston rings let go.

So the 7m is dead, it might not be completly but to me its dead.

Get ready for a heart transplant.
