Well, I haven't updated this in a while. Nelson hasn't moved since the motor blew. Trees are growing on it at this point. I've kinda lost motivation, and I really don't need to spend any money on it as I'm already into my other BMW project deep enough to need to finish and I've decided to go back to school this August. It definitely won't be getting the big engine build I was planning on. I'm really not sure what I'm going to do with this car. Tags are up and it'll never pass emissions, the paint is probably shot now, it needs major engine work, I sold the wheels... I'm just kinda ugh on it.

That's actually what I got them out of... wasn't a black DA was it? They were in this:

yeah me either! I've done a lot of repairs and swaps and some head work, but never a full, bare-block, performance "build"

    Old corollas are sick.

So here's a fun story... The line to Import Alliance was 2 hours long. In that line, Nelson overheated and grenaded the upper radiator hose. Turns out, it popped so violently because 1. I have the wrong radiator cap and 2. I plumbed the overflow tank wrong (they aren't supposed to be air tight, it builds pressure) It didn't help my situation that I deleted the coolant temperature sensor and had no idea it was overheating the whole time. Never had before, but I never kept it running without moving either. So it overheated enough to blow the head gasket again and probably warp the head. Burning lots of coolant and oil now. Soooo time for a winter performance rebuild!

Thanks. It's about an inch too wide on either side, so I'm gonna wind up cutting it down on the sides when I go to paint it again.
