it may be different for teh soopra...but for my side exit to work, it has to run along the floor..making it 2 1/4 inches lower...
my exhaust from where i jumped it out of the stock exhaust area to the rocker panel is literally 1 inch off the ground, and flat as a pancake, check it:
all thats just from going in and out of driveways, or parking garages, or speedbumps...

I watched the paint video on the vimeo there, and quite enjoyed it, showed it to some co-workers that could give a fuck about cars and they liked it too, so you appeal to a wide audience and I think that's just lovely.
Here's my car. Under the knife again, as usual, I get bored in the winter and waste too much money on it since I am in MA and it snows for half the year and then is suddenly 90* for the rest of it.

April 12th
Well, the weather was great this weekend so i got to do some of the less fun stuff i've been putting off, like ripping out the fender liners. i was also able to put in and smoke the clear turn signals, which i feel look soooooOOOoooOOooOOOooOo much better than the OEM ones.
Before smoking:
I didn't take any pictures of ripping the liner out because.. well, that's boring. who wants to see a picture of that bullshit right? I took some measurements and i'm going to have to raise how the engine sits in the bay. the 7mgte's turbo oil return line juts out of the oil pan at a 45 degree downward angle. It's about 4 inches rear of the front axle so it's fine crawling over speed bumps, but if i were to nail a rock or a decapitated head or dead body, it would be bad news. In the side-on picture below you can see how the straight 3in. exhaust really limits clearance too at this point.
I'd like to find a way to maybe run the side exit exhaust parallel behind a side skirt. I really dislike a lot of the aero for the MK3, and "bodykits" in general. I think a lot of the time the regular oem lines look fine the way they are. That being said, i do like the spec-r skirts from shine auto.
(please ignore hyper-gay lambo-doored example)
If the whole side exit idea blows up in my face, i'd like to go with an Apexi N1 style dual muffler, suck it up, go lower and just ruin the midpipe.
Bought a set of 4 tires for dirt cheap Saturday. non staggered 'ling long' 215 35 18's
(i have never heard of this brand and is probably a cheap Chinese knockoff that's going to kill me)
Tried to mount them with the help of my human rat sidekick jesse, and between the two of us we were only able to get one of the beads over the lip. These things don't want to stretch at all, so it might have been a waste of money to buy them. I suck, i know. I'll try and find a place that will mount them for me, or at least get the beads on. After that i'll pop em with ye olde brake cleaner explosion trick.
If that doesn't work and i end up throwing them out, I won't be out much money. If you read my other thread 'bummer' then you know that those tires that i ordered a month ago weren't coming, because readywheels.com is a scam run by a bunch of dudes circle jerking in an empty warehouse to kiddie porn. I'm kind of bitter over that.
After tire-time i went to the car wash, rinsed the ol' cunt off and then headed with Jesse to an abandoned gravel lot that overlooks the dockyards for some pictures.
And that was my weekend. If anyone wants to educate me on a good place near the east coast of Canada to mail order tires from, or a place anywhere within Canada that has low shipping rates, please tell me, I'll give you all my ex-girlfriends phone numbers as a reward.

Looking good mate, im in the same boat as you, **** all the aero made for these but i might have something in the pipeline as im making my own skirts for mine out of butchered s14 skirts.
Ill let you know when ive finished.
