Thank you - mechanically yes, electronically no. The ECU was converted to essentially run as a standalone ECU and the wiring was pretty complex. There are a few tricks to it and I'd possibly do it differently if I did it again but it's done now!

Man that S54 swap is really quite something. Was it relatively straight forward? Entire loom swap etc?

    A lot has happened lately.

First up, S54 swap (still a work in progress but it works and drives great) -

Got it running, MOT'd and taxed the night before a 4-day trip around Wales - EuroThrasher 2. Was a great shakedown and the car was faultless.

Then since I've been back I've been working until 10pm or later every night - met up with my mate Joey to pick up my new wheels and didn't get home until midnight the other night.

Next morning (yesterday) I got up at 6am to fit my Motorsport Hardware stud conversion - the neighbours think I'm mental.

    Was on a shoot for this lastnight - George Assi's E24 635

Then, finally, got a chance to go to the tyre shop this morning and get the new wheels rubbered up. They're ex-BTCC Rays G07WTs, magnesium, 17x9 ET20 with 235/45 (f) and 255/40 (r) Goodyear Eagle F1s.

Need to get pics of it cleaned at the weekend, and also address the rubbing at the rear. But I'm really happy with how it looks!

Feels brilliant, nice short shift and feels really mechanical without being hard to use

Aye, I'll have to see how it's looking a little nearer the time. It should be done, hopefully there are still slots left when it comes to it.

I didn't know that. If it's done, I'm there. And will be smashing the track. F*ck show cars!

Thanks! I haven't thought about it to be honest. If my car is back from RAW then most likely yes, though I haven't tried to get into the selected area thingy or anything. If it's not 100% ready I won't go.

New (well, second hand) rad is now in, with genuine coolant - so the car is theoretically now fully functioning.

My dad also had his wheels refurbed by a mobile smart repair guy, so needed something to keep his E39 propped up.

Which meant I put the rear Azevs back on mine. Forgot how good they look!

My brother-in-law also painted my rear arches as they'd suffered some damage, and rust was setting in. No pics of that I'm afraid.

Probably dropping it down to RAW next weekend for a few bits to be done, then an MOT and we're on the road again!
