No update as such, just drove it to the Total M Cars/Evolve Automotive meet. Without a doubt the least tidy car there.
Also made this quick vid of the car. Just from passengers filming on phones, nothing crazy.

No real updates as to be honest, I haven't driven the car for the past 2 weeks. Apart from a little outing in the rain which was great fun - no chance of getting the power down in first or second, even third was pushing it a bit.
Only exciting thing is that this has turned up. It's the new Bimmerworld 'Little Nicky' gearknob. I've been wanting to fit a Quaife nylon gearknob for a while now but delayed as it means getting a custom shifter made to allow a screw-on knob. I'd been talking to UUC about it and they were going to produce something for me, but when this came out it solved all my problems. It's made from Delrin and uses the same snap-fit as OEM knobs, so there's no fiddly, ugly grub screws to work their way loose. Can't wait to try it out - the machining on it is so perfect, inside and out.

Not yet no - I have a standard airbox that I'm going to get a filter of some sort onto when I get a spare minute. Then the stacks will have to wait, I'll think of something. Apparently leaving the sock filter some space to dilate stops them ripping, but I'm then worried about the cable tie being on the fatter bit of the trumpet and so slipping down and coming loose. If that makes sense?
Something like your idea would work but as I've got oval trumpets it's a complete bummer. Losing the stacks would be so costly in power. Thanks for the pointer though, got me thinking about other solutions!S54 E36 Touring build here: http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/sh...t=11730&page=3

Hit them harder! Have you unscrewed the black securing pieces from the bases of the trumpets? Once that's done you just need to hit them really hard with a rubber mallet, or put a block of wood over the trumpet base and smack that. They're bonded in so don't always come out easy. Some of mine were harder than others.S54 E36 Touring build here: http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/sh...t=11730&page=3

Travelling down a road I know like the back of my hand, in a bit of a rush but not hammering it by any means. Next thing I knew, front went, rear went, front gripped and I was sideways across the grass, heading for the trees. Not sure whether it was mud, diesel, leaves or what. Saved it from spinning and from hitting the trees but clipped something along the way. Ended up back on the road facing the right way with the side skirt hanging off so stamped on it to break the last clips, chucked it in the boot and carried on, with half a log wedged inbetween the rear tyre and rim. Lovely. The gf was not impressed (was sitting in the passenger seat the whole time and was calmer than I was about the whole thing. Although she can't see over the dashboard which probably helped).
Luckily I was heading to my sister's house and my brother-in-law works doing bodywork. A pin puller, a touch up and new clips for the side skirt and we should be good to go. Thank god for that! Thought that was game over.
In other news, fitted the new gearknob which has made a really big difference. With the clubsport it was quite notchy, especially on second which felt pretty horrible. That's gone now and shifts are much cleaner, it's a real joy and feels great in your hand.
Also spent the day pre-crash emptying a few clips and bits and bobs from the engine bay and finishing off the carbon canister delete. Need to sort my bloody headlights out.
Noticed that my full-lock rubbing might be a little worse than I first thought too - definitely need to either raise it or get 40-profile tyres next time (currently 235/45)
So there you go. Bit of an up and down weekend!S54 E36 Touring build here: http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/sh...t=11730&page=3
