That's cool, I knew that already.. just curious what you're going to do to compliment it

Paint them all black! (or are the T/A stripes removable?)

Maybe an e28 Mtech spoiler and the front valence you already have, pretty sure that would help the look out a lot, for me anyway.

          • Could also just be built up condensation from a warm motor sitting out in the cold. Run it for a while and check it again.

Yes Vegas, that's what us mechanics call "oil"

Seriously though, at least it's not a chocolate milk consistancy. That would be baaaaaaaad, I agree with the consendation comment for now.

you do know most 80's bmw's you need to adjust the valves once a year right? probably not adjusted right.

                        • I've never heard 'every year' but they definitely do need adjusting every 4-5 years at the very least. Timing belts and valve adjustments are probably #1 and #2 on the M20.

                              • You said knock, did you mean tick?

A knock is usually a bottom end noise, generally rod or main bearing issues. These sometimes make the motor sound mechanically like a diesel.

A tick or tap is mostly from the top end, head and valve train. These are things that you can relate to timing component wear and valve adjustment.
