Volvo v50 awd sounds pretty good to me.

a lot of people think the baja's are ugly. I kinda like them though. We had one just like that come into the dealer when I worked there. Also a really nice newer black one, I think it may have been factory turbo.

I think they might look good modded of some kind, maybe a rally/Baja style would work.

And I still choose a Subaru Forester wagon, I want one myself eventually...
