I dont get any hassle in my area and i live near a big main police HQ but i have quite a few friends that get grief for there cars and regularly get pulled (no points or anything but generally its a pain in the arse).
My main issue is speed bumps and poor roads lol, being static is quite limiting at times... air is the way forward imo if uk modding and you want mega lows!

Some cars better than others, insurance companies all work differently, if you're over 25 classics (like 20 year old cars) can be easy / cheaper to insure.
Also depends where in the UK you want to move to. In Derby I got no hassle for running plateless on the front, but in other counties its like a £30 fine every time you're pulled.
