  • FOR SALE: Slammed rx7 Convertible on Weds Kranze

So… The time has come - FOR SALE OR SWAPS - My 1989 rx7 FC3s Turbo Twin rotor Vert

I Bought this rx7 off Gander, and can honestly say it’s been so much fun I don’t want to part with it, but with my work being a little iffy at the moment and me having the attention span of a monkey on speed I decided the has to go in preperation for the worst as knowing my luck as soon as I purchase the 1jz I will get my notice, so the rex will be moving on to a new home and I will be scrapping the plans to put a holset hx40 on it or drop a 1jz into it..

The car is mechanically solid, I have just had a new clutch slave and master cylinder fitted by re:worx in Portsmouth and got them to do a few other checks when there, they told me the engine is solid which is a great thing to hear with the rotaries.

The engine I was informed via the previous advert had a rebuild about 18k ago now, I haven’t checked this which is one of the reasons that reworx had a look for me, and the car has been champagne tested. The chassis is on 99k at the moment but will be increasing as this is my daily drive.

I will add that the alternator has just started to show signs of the rectifier failing - but I will get this changed and sorted asap -NOW CHANGED

I have also had a Clifford concept 650mkII Cat1 insurance approve alarm fitted to the car with internal and external sensors (a must have if you ever park with the roof down) and the docs to show its insurance approved.

The wheels are Weds Kranze, 17” staggered with et8 – MEGA RARE and even rarer in this fitment, and they are in pretty good condition with just a few little marks on the lips, tyres have covered about 1000 miles since purchase and have loads of treads all round

Bodywork – for a 25 year old car - Is in very very good condition, I spent £200 on a professional valet for a car show, and the paint came up like a new showroom car, however there are a few marks, such as the scratches on the drivers side corner there is a scuff of about 5” on the corner of the bumper and a 5” scratch beside it, the rear arches – where rolled – on the passenger side has flaked a bit, and the turbo 2 sideskirts are (for now) cable tied on, It also has a s13 pre facelift splitter in satin black

The roof does have 2 rips in it as it’s the original roof with the mohair inside lining and solid mid section and heated glass rear window. The rips are on the corners where the B pillars would be on a normal car but are currently sealed with a layer of waterproof tape (quotes to fix this about 250 for a whole new roof trim or 100 for 2 patches to be sewn on) I also have the Tannau Cover for the roof as well.

BC Racing Coilovers are about 4 months old and I have the receipt for them and are amazingly comfortable.

I bought this car from a customer of mine who had the car for the last 14 years. When he first bought it he had the engine rebuilt by WGT racing, and a full body respray. Since his owner ship he has moved a couple of times and the history for the car seems to be scattered about. He just called me on Saturday to say his father found the old MOT's at his house and the tannoue cover for the roof was at his warehouse

    Specs are:

Owned for 14 years by the previous bar one owner
    Rebuild at 88k by WGT

Probably a lot more to list but that will do for now

    BAD Points -

Its missing pistons.. hahahah I joke
Ok there is a tiny seep from the Oil filter which was only put on about 2 months ago, the oil cooler has a moist washer, but it just needs a new copper washer on it and that will stop, but as its not actually loosing oil I have not fixed it, The windscreen wipers work on slow, but not on intermittant and fast, never bothered me as you can control it off the retro wiper switch, few marks on the bodywork, nothing crazy just a little corner scuff and some flaing on the rear arch as stated above where its been rolled, also the front wheel has lost a balancing weight so about 60mph you get a little wobble, also could do with being tracked since I have adjusted the camber and ride height. Thats all I can think of for now

    Heres the Pics

as requested pics of the top mounts, tannau cover, and interior before it was valteded - is cleaner now

I am looking for Px’s or Swaps in honesty – but for a cash price looking around £3500 which seems a fair price as the wheels and coilys are worth over £1600 alone and the alarm was £400 fitted, the new master cylinder and slave cylinder were £200 and the Alternator was another £100. Or without the wheels (will go on stock s14 rims) £2500

Please Understand this is not a fresh out the showroom car its 24 years old, it was bought as a summer skidder and i kept it as I loved it so much and it is just so much fun to drive.

I Would like an r32, s14a, s13 with sr20det or anything jap and rwd in honesty as I have made this car too nice to skid at the moment - well in my opinion.

    Thanks for reading,

    Cannon
