This is looking awesome now. Love that you've kept the trims with the bandeds.

Alright! A very uninteresting update here, some pics included.
We have had THE WORST TWO WEEKS.
INSERT NICE PIC FOR HORRID POST TO FOLLOW
MOT Failed (on purpose, I wanted a list of things to do) the Thursday before the below incident, so we were in the 10-day 'fix it and bring it back and we'll pass it' window.
Last Tuesday some scrotes attempted to steal my car, they caused a fair bit of damage attempting to get in and failed on account of having no idea how to hotwire or work a choke. Pics of damage;
(s'cuse the leopard print, i was in bed when the police knocked to say they'd found the car and I just chucked my onesie on)
DAMAGE
Exterior; Bonnet Corner (Passenger side) bent upwards, front valance/grill area bent inwards from force of bending bonnet, boot lid forced open and bent boot stay in process, driver’s side quarterlight hinge broken and a section of rubber removed, paint removed around top rear corner of front driver’s side door. Driver’s side door handle bent down. Inside; steering wheel bent, front speakers bent, driver’s side ash tray forced down and snapped off, speedometer glass smashed, speedometer needle rest removed, horn button removed, indicator stalk bent and moved around steering column. Driver’s side glovebox trim removed and snapped, one screw undone beneath. All wiring pulled out from behind dashboard. Heater wires cut and plastic hoses and side parts removed and cracked. Windscreen washer pipes cut. CD Player dismantled. Gear stick bent slightly to passenger side. Ignition barrel appeared to be damaged by a forced screwdriver or other object.
So.. the MOT list got a little longer than expected. They also nicked my broken tripod from my boot and the fascia for my CD player.. they could have easily had the whole thing.
MOT was finally passed just outside the 10-day window on Friday, the MOT centre very kindly gave me a reduced fee on account of the break in and looked over a few minor details (id do you know how hard it is to get an indicator stalk light working again? bastards..)
I then received a replacement bonnet…
And we're back to looking ratty as fuck! ):
PS- Apparently the poke is an advisory on the MOT. May be useful info for some of you.

Sorry to hear about the damage
On a side note, poke has been an MOT failure for a loooooong time. I guess it just depends on where you go as to how strict they are. Dat welshLast edited by Anonymoose; 06-17-2013, 08:43 AM.

EDIT: Did a bit more research. Wheels protruding is an MOT Pass and Advise, which means it will pass, but the road traffic police will not be too pleased.

Gutted to hear about the damage The scummy brain dead wankers should be shot. I had the same thing happen to my Anglia, they bent the door down smashed the dash cluster and then ripped all the wires out of it.... took my steering wheel for good measure.Originally posted by MommysLittleMonsterInternet high five for you.

I use my degree and hastily traced a photo with a 'paint plan';
Its going arctic/alpine white, whichever they have more of in stock. Wheels and roof rack to match. After a HELL OF A LONG TIME.

Ah man cars without alarms are stressful. I'm currently using a stupid baby monitor.

So, my dad picked up the car a few weeks ago now. I've had an update today - he's done a full on dad approach, removed all the wings and has apparently had a tantrum and put it under cover for three days. He spent those three days sourcing new wings for the back (which are.. 2" wider) - these wide rear wings now cover my wheels, and he's put, in his own words 'proper tyres' on them.
He's left the front as is other than sourcing some new fibreglass wings. Dad can play as its a lot of work he's doing for me to the car.
He disagrees with my colour choice but is not straying from it, so I guess I'll just see what the car is like when it comes back - will definitely be solid, but whether the wheels/tyre combo will be ok.....?
