Btw, I think Rich might be my new fanboy

Editing my pics from the meet right now and there's this whole series where I'm taking pics of the cars he's standing behind of, and in each picture he's staring straight at me / the camera

                        • What is that lens you use? Looks amazingly crisp

                          • Not sure which you mean, but my current lens park consists of the following:

                            Samyang 8mm Fisheye
Porst 28mm f2.8 (~40 years old manual M42 lens using an adapter) - this one actually keeps falling apart because the screws holding in the front lens come loose every few weeks
                            Pentacon 50mm f1.8 (another vintage M42 lens)
                            Helios 44-M 58mm f2.0 (another vintage M42 lens)
                            Pentacon 135mm f2.8 (another vintage M42 lens)

I think in the UK trip I only used the fisheye, the 28mm and the 135mm.

I just love those vintage lenses, usually can get them for around ~50 - 100 bucks (sometimes even less, I've been swapping these out every few months and had a few I only paid ~5 bucks for!) and get similar picture quality to a modern lens that costs a few hundred if not a few thousand. And they feel way more solid because most of them are pretty much all metal and glass instead of plastics and glass... downside is having to set everything manually... manually focussing can be a bit annoying when trying to track a moving target.

                            • Ahh ok. I noticed the vintage lens on your camera.

I'll have to dig out my adapter for some I have I think

The plastic arches extend further than the inner metal on mine, ive already melted away the arches on my tyres, but now its hit metal. Gunna take the plastic off, and cut the metal up until the clips for the plastic. Thats at least an inch more clearance!
