Since you've got the contract, that states when you sold it (at least it should), you shouldn't be in any trouble. Might just have to show the contract to anyone who comes knocking.

I had a similar experience when I sold a car that was still registered and the buyer blasted through some speed traps and never deregistered it. Since I didn't have the plates, I couldn't deregister ist. I was lucky that my insurance payment was just coming up - on advice from the worker at the vehicle department, I simply did not pay that, the car got forcibly deregistered because of it being not insured, and the cops started looking for it and I didn't have anything further to do with the matter.

Yes but no...I´ve sold the car registerd so he can take it home...and register it on his name.

So he got the car with the plate, didnt reregister it for a month and when he did he got to keep my plates...wich he put on another unregistered car. i dont think i´ll get any charges for the shit he does since i´ve sold it with a contract and shit but i´ll still have the hassle if he gets caught
