I agree. I think a subtle satin graphite gray would would really well against the dull gold.

I are not sure what to do with it atm, I bought the wheels as they were in green tbh. First things first though, I have to completely flush out the fuel system and rebuild the carb.

The paint on the car is properly shot, needs a respray but I can't afford one. Wanted to do the whole car in a grey matt/satin then let my artistic friend attack it with a sharpie for the lolz. I don't take modifying cars seriously.

dont matt/satin it! it looks awesome as it is, you say the paint is shot but matt will look even worse
just my opinion though. i think old cars are allowed to have bad paint, adds character

I love that gold, and even if its a bit dodgey some places... thats a good thing.. Patina is good on old vw's.
