  • New guy - IS300

Hey guys i had signed up already for a little while but never posted so her i am making my intro thread.

My names Eldridge and I stay in North Carolina and I own a GGP IS300. Ive owned the car since last July and I managed to do some stuff to it that I hope you guys like.

I know it needs more poke or bigger tires. As of now the lip of the rims are even with the fenders. I cant decide if i want to run falken 512: 235/245 40 or the nitto 225/40 in the rear and then push it out more.

The fronts are 205/40 and if i go with wider tires in the back. ill switch to a 215 up front.

Opinion/help is appreciated. Anyways heres some pics. Sorry if they arent the greatest. I tried lol.

    Wheel specs: (f) 17x8.5 et37 / 17x9.5 et36 (r)

    for fun:

Looks great, but something just seems a bit off. I think if you went with a 45 profile tire instead of the 40 it would look much better. That's just my two cents though. But regardless, it's a sharp looking car.

Same thing i was thinking but i cant make up my mind with the tires lol... Ive had this dilemma for the longest. I didnt want 45s to look too fat. But i was leaning more towards running wider tires since i dont plan on going lower anytime soon.

Me personally......i'd run a 215/45 up front and a 225/45 in the rear. Or even a 205/45 (F) 215/45 (R) setup maybe if you wanted to keep the stretch.

^^ No need to keep the stretch if the wheels aren't aggressive.

IMO... Push the wheels out more. Run 45 series and go a tad lower to close up that wheel-gap.

Still looks sick my fellow IS300'er

So i guess the ideal size is 215/45 and 225/45 in the back. im guessing the slight stretch will be even on both front and back correct?

thanks man, ive said it before but ill keep saying it.. your car is sick as well and even more with the new set up. yours is one of my favorite IS's.

ill probably go with what you guys suggest and go with the 45s and then push them out as soon as possible.
