  • Hello from the Netherlands (Nijmegen)

    Hello,

I am Ardi, 26 y/o newcomer who just landed in the Netherlands. Hoping to take part of events in my area and meet new interesting people and see their projects.

Thought I'd also show you folks one of my previously owned cars. Opel Astra GSi - don't see many of these here in StanceWorks.

Opel Astra GSi '93; 1.8 (C18XE); 92 kW; lowered on FK Automotive -60/50 springs.

Wheels are BBS; 16x7.5J; refurbished in dark grey color. Tyre specs are 195/45 all around.

    Greetings,
    Ardi

    Hello friend,

nice and clean looking astra you got there, was the 1.8 swapped in or the bodykit fitted?
You don't see much of 'em because i havent posted my convertible yet...

It is all original from the factory (Astra GSi model). Though C18XE isn't as common as C20XE (the two liter and 110 kW) or as C20NE (the two liter and 85 kW) on this chassis. Bodykit is also from the factory.

May have seen some pictures of your convertible in the Omega-s build thread, if I'm right?

        Hi Ardi Welcome,

There are several meetings and events around NL. But I am not fully aware of them. Others are though and they will probably answer your question in the "Random Draad"

Great to see a original gsi, nowadays most of the stuff labled "GSI" is
          swapped engine or body wise...
I never actually seen a pre facelift c18xe gsi..., only ne or xe's...

The 'vert in the omega thread belongs to my mother...
Mine is in the inside the garage... blown head gasket...

You want to get another opel or are you looking into something else?

As I said the C18XE-s weren't so common. I knew that they existed (thanks to our Astra GSi forum in Estonia), but also hadn't seen one before buying this one.

Somewhere in the near future I'd like to own a slightly modified (read: modestly stanced) GSi again, as I miss my old one really bad. It was my second GSi and as they say - old love doesn't rust (doesn't apply to Opel though ). Ideally it would be Spectral blue and have a XE motor.
