My name's Peter, I'm from Melbourne in Australia, always kind of lurched Stanceworks forums for motivation but decided it was about time I made an account on here and tried to make some friends or something ridiculous like that.

I *was* driving a Toyota LX80 but it came to an end by a lovely gentleman that decided to cut me off on a highway which sent me into a guard rail at 110km/h (about 70mp/h), alas that car is no more. I've just bought my now 2nd Benz since finishing my mechanic apprenticeship there - a 1992 300SE (W124), which is on it's way on the back of a truck from Western Australia (about 3,400km - 2,100 miles).

I should explain just quickly, my name on here is "Respect Till Death" and it's a brand I made a year and a half ago focusing on auto-culture and the likes - as it stands it's just me and a heap of mates building cars and hanging out, we have probably 10 cars in the group as it sits and forever growing, we even have jackets!

Anybody else from Melbourne lurk around here? Absolute pleasure to meet you guys regardless!

okay so update, the truck was hit by another truck on the border of Adelaide and the car in mention fell off the top of the truck, alas I have to go through their insurance to get some money back for it. Today I'm going to have a look at a W201.... I'll keep you updated.

yep I totally, agree. Massive massive bummer cos' I wanted a W140 in my life. Alas I'm going to pick up the W201 mentioned tonight, not nearly the same thing but I'm sure with a bit of back work I could put W140 stuff on it ie. rear end/interior etc

yup, so I can only really get back purchase price + shipping cost, but that'll go towards wheels I think so win win. Car's off getting detailed and cleaned up, will have pics to share by the end of today hopefully

have no idea to be honest, you would think pretty bloody hard! I would think interstate roads probably 65/70mph.
Sucks to be the guy that was trying to get his 2015 model Panamera to Melbourne cos' his shit got fucked up too, makes me feel a bit better haha, I wish I got pics but they go straight through their insurance so i don't get to see it
