  • 190E from Detroit

New guy from the metro Detoit area with a '93 190E 2.6. I just bought the car in the middle of March as my new year round DD, but I am starting to freshen it up a little bit. This is what it looked like when I first picked it up.

After a lot of time spent trying to bring the paint back up to standards, I realized it is just too far gone to be polished back up to good. So right now I'm just focusing on fixing the little things and enjoying it for the summer. I picked up some AMG Monoblock IIs last week in time to get the fenders rolled for the MSU Racing Club car show this last weekend. Here is what it looked like there, with a pin stripe delete:

I'm still on the fence if I like the 18s, but lots of people around here are digging them, so I think I'll wait to pass judgement until the bags go on. I also have a set of 546R that I might see if they'll work with some adapters on it.

Plans for it right now are:
Refinish the Monoblocks to a silver with polished lip (they are "ginger ale" right now)
    Euro headlights
    Bags
    New Tint
    Redo the trunk

I think all of that plus all of the little things are going to keep me busy for quite some time. I've also been stalking the hell out of this site for ideas, so let me know what you think.

Looks like it's in pretty clean shape!

18s are BIG on a W201. Sometimes I think they're a bit big even on my E-class. I'll be interested to see if you can pull them off when it's on air.

    Now get to work!

Yea, I'm not terribly happy with them. I keep thinking about trying to trade them for some 17" amg wheels.
