    The StanceWorks Community

I am a 16 year old kid and I am interested in the Stance car scene. I have been into modified cars for long but it is almost time for me to buy my first car and I would love to start modifying it. The only problem that affects my generation is the price on insurance and tax as it it through the roof and I was hoping if anyone could guide me in the right starting direction for cars that are cheap on insurance and look amazing when Stanced?

I was also wandering what the best modifications are to start off with that look clean and smart, if you could call it that! I also do not want to go too "naf" by modifying something like a vauxhall corsa with cheap nasty modifications.

    Welcome to StanceWorks.

As for cars that are cheap easy to modify I would definitely recommend any 96-00 Civic hatchback (ive had 2 and they were both cool, sort of).
As a fellow 16 year old I would highly recommend these cars. Parts are cheap and incredibly accessible.

As for good starting mods I would go with something simple like Coilovers and wheels.

I was looking more into the VW stance area as volkswagens have always been one of my favourite makes of cars and I was looking more towards a VW Golf or Lupo but i'll keep the Civic in mind but it all depends on the price of the insurance!

Hey mate, I'm in a very similar position as you. I'm 17 doing my driving lessons right now, which means a car is soon to follow. Sad fact is that the cheapest way to get on the road is a Peugeot 106, which together will come to around £2k with insurance and everything else. Very mixed bag of opinions regarding that as you can imagine haha.

I'm going to probably look at Polos from early 2000s. If you get it right you can get one and insurance for around £2.5k.

In regards to getting the car low, I'm going to go for something simple, most probably coils and some rims, it's not an area you want to cheep out on though so keep that in mind. It's my first car after all I don't want to do something too unnecessary to it or make it a death trap. I only need it to get myself about and to drive myself and my camera to the upcoming shows this year haha.

When you turn 18,19,20, that's when you can think of doing something sweet car wise whilst being able to afford it.

Well this is only my perspective on things, I'm pretty sure other people on here will have different approaches and stories.

        Anyway mate, welcome to s|w
