  • Newbie Alert!!!!

    Hi All,

I registered a while ago, but have never posted. I thought it about time I introduced myself as I'm going to be picking peoples brains soon.....How very rude of me!

Anyway, I live near Gatwick Airport in the UK, been into cars for far too long now and dread to think how much money I've spent over the years on various steeds!

    I'm currently knocking about in a late 2008 R56 MINI Cooper S.

I'll get a build thread going as there's a few changes that have happened over the past 18 months. I'm now looking at air ride, hence the need to pick peoples brains as this is one of the few areas of car modding I've not really ventured into.

I already have a set of Airrex struts and an iLevel. An eLevel kit is on the cards soon once I get the retrim out of the way. Although that said, I need the compressors before the retrim as I plan to place them behind Perspex windows either side of the boot.

Enough talk, a couple of pictures.

When I first bought the car.

    And how she looks now.

That went from nice to SEXY!! Its that a wrap? So you're doing airride, anything else in the plans? (not that it needs anything, just asking.

          progress IS a slow process

            Thanks.

            It's paint not vinyl

Plenty of plans for it. Currently the interior is almost completely stripped ready for the retrim in black and white nappa leather. That was scheduled to start next week but I have a slight issue with the roll cage that's going to put me back a couple of weeks.

There's some custom airbrush work on dash/door trims on the interior as well as some carbon skinned parts. More to come on that front.

I've just started the ice install too which consists of a pair of 6" JL Audio subs, a set of JL Audio 3 way components up front run from a JL Audio 500/3 amp. All this will be fed from a Pioneer DEH80PRS headunit in a very custom configuration....

She also has a titanium alloy exhaust with carbon fibre tail pipes courtesy of Akrapovic.

One million points to the gentleman from some island where they talk weird!

I'm so bored to tears by vinyl wraps. I get why people do them, but it pleases me greatly that that's paint.

The car looks marvelous - what a transformation thus far!
