  • Hello from Kazakhstan!

Hi guys! I'm from Almaty, that is the biggest city in Kazakhstan, and we have many different car cultures, but dropping cars or stance is not so popular, but I am a great fan of stuff like that. I have a 1990 C124, and I'm mad about it. I really want to make a nice project out of it, and I already made some stuff that'll be described a little bit later. So here is what I approximately want to lead the project to.

And this is how it looks now

Guys, I know that it is too high, but this was the only way to put this combination of tires/wheels. So, can you guys advise me what to do to lower it and share your opinion on this project? Thanks beforehand.

I do love a C124, and welcome! Out of curiosity, which engine have you got?

Tell me, are you wanting to do coil springs or go with air ride? If you're wanting coils, there are many options out there from cut stock coils on up. Some people also run E36 BMW coilovers in the front with shortened springs and shocks in the rear. And of course, there are the few, the proud, those of us on air

Looking forward to seeing what you do with this!

Thanks! Well, when I owned it, there was m103 3.0L engine and about a year ago I swapped it to m104 3.2L now it runs much better
I'd really like to go with air ride, but seems to me it is an expensive way, so I prefer to do coil springs, at least for this season.

Yeah, air isn't inexpensive, that's for sure. It's not as bad on these cars as some others, since we have separate springs and shocks, and thus don't need custom air-over-shock setups, but coils are obviously considerably less expensive.

If you're going with coils, make sure you get the right kind of spring compressor for these cars - you'll want one that's this style:

Other than that, a spring swap is extremely easy on these cars.
