being a 17 year old kid eager to get my car, i did everything in my power to get my mom to sign off on a loan for me. i had about $1200 in the bank so i got a $3500 loan, just the right amount to get a decent car. After blowing my brothers truck motor i needed a car quick for school and work. so i got out and pick a nice 98 eclipse gst for $4100 with 3 mods and 120,000 miles. being eager for a car i bought this thing and was happy for about 2 weeks untill this motor blew on me. so i get some luck and find a good motor for $500 and ready to spend the next 2 weekends swapping engines. thanks for looking, let me know what you think or if you have any comments, thanks!

after my motor blew, this is what i got done in a weekend.

we got the engine swapped successfully, now we just need to connect all the electric bullshit and get her fired up.

after we finished connecting all the wires, we ran into a little problem. she wont fire up.... so now this is how she sits until we get her running. stay in touch for some more pics when I get her running and back on the streets.

Nice you're able to do the swap but 2 blown motors back-to-back sounds like you need a class in MAINTENANCE. Thats a lot of time, effort and $$ that could have gone in to maintenance and mods. I wish you success and hope it gets better for you with engine longevity!

            progress IS a slow process

I'm sure the guy I bought it from knew it had a knock. Put thick ass oil in it and sold it. But with 120k on itt, it's bound to blow sometime. But having a new motor in I can't wait to drive it for more than 2 weeks.
