    I love that 1st gen gdb wagon! How do you like the ej205 vs the ej25?(assuming that it was a US/North American spec wagon)

    Welcome to stance|works.

      The EJ25 only came in 06/07+ WRX and all STI, the 02-05 WRX had an EJ205 from the factory. The good JDM motor is an EJ207, but I opted for a drop in replacement when I spun a bearing in my stock block.

      and thanks!

          Now I know hahaha.

          I was under the impression that even the early wrx's used the ej25x because of the 2.5 rs's and the sti's had a bunch of interchangeable parts.

          x=insert number there.

            Thanks man! Sadly, the Legacy spun a bearing in the motor - and I'm gonna be parting it out once it warms up a bit around here.

            It's a fair assumption, Subarus are pretty much Lego.

            Without writing too much, the N/A Subarus are EJ251 and EJ253. 06/07+ WRX, Legacy GT, and Forester XT use a a turbo EJ255, and the 04+ USDM STi uses an EJ257. JDM STi use EJ20G or EJ20K (early models), and Ver.6 and newer use variations of the EJ207.
