    Single Solex 34 PICD carb

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

(some pics of Wendy are on my old tires, 225/45-17s)

Plans for both you might ask? (especially the Merc)

Charlotte- get running well: new plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, oil change. Bleed clutch. Install old/small tach at the bottom of the dash. Hide modern CD player under the dash. Address rust issues, repair as needed, remove 200D badge, primer dark gray. Address window seal issues. Weber 32/36 carb conversion. Muffler removal and replace exhaust with new piping with a polished turn down tip (maybe side dump in front of rear tire if I can make it work). Fab up slotted headlight covers (find pics of any WWII vehicle and half of them have those slots). Big fog lights for the front. Later on get a proper paint job (redo white), recarpet interior, seat covers, air ride, wire up for a sub and proper speakers. Replace 13" steelies/hubcaps with similar style 15-16" steelies/hubcaps from W123 generation Mercedes, put on white walls.

Wendy- Neuspeed supercharger, frame notch, stage 1 VR6 clutch/G60 flywheel, TDI .72 5th gear conversion, air ride potentially. 5mm bigger spacer in the rear, move 15mm spacer up front. GLI Recaro seats and retrofit seat heaters.

So apparently I wasn't getting notifications for this thread haha. Well, Charlotte has come a long way and is very close to being on the road again.

The short and sweet version is:

Dismantled the carburetor. Found its beyond repairing with basic rebuild kits. Decided that a Weber 32/36 DGEV 2 barrel progressive was a priority. We discovered this after running a compression test and discovering that A) all plugs were super black from running rich, B) we had compression in all 4 cylinders, and C) cylinder #2 was constantly missing.

Last night, I got new clutch master and slave cylinders in and it seems to have solved my clutch release issue (all gears were tough to find/engage and reverse would not engage while the engine was running without grinding).

In addition, earlier this week I got my Weber, the air filter for it, and a DGEV to Jeep 1 barrel carb adapter plate I thought would fit. Turns out that plate was a little too big and wouldn't work at all. So my dad took a spare piece of aluminum he had lying around and we set about making an intake adapter for that plate. He texted me earlier today saying that he was finishing up the plate and tonight after work were gonna put it all together, adapt the throttle linkage, and see how she runs!

I have a progression thread over on vwvortex's The Car Lounge for more detailed progression if you'd like to read that!

            Here's some pics from progression:

All new ignition electrics (plugs, cap, rotor, wires, coil)

Datass after a low pressure wash and getting valid plates (Wendy now has the plate # one below Charlotte's):

The new Weber 32/36 DGEV electric choke:

The 2-1 barrel conversion plate with the piece of aluminum being used to make the intake manifold adapter plate and the intake heat spacer we used as a template (exhaust/intake manifolds are stacked):

Another view of the intake adapter with the heat spacer. A dremel will be necessary to adapt the bore size difference between the intake and the 2-1 adapter:
