  • OEM+ Volvo from SoCal

Hello Stanceworks. I'm new to lowering but having done it I must say I probably will never own a stock height car ever again .

So the car is a 2002 Volvo v70xc awd. My parents originally purchased this car in 2004 with 25,000 miles on it and it is currently at 186,000 under my care and it has a complete and meticulous service history. The car is equipped with almost every option availible from the factory (minus Nav and GSM telephone) including the AWESOME Dolby Pro-Logic Surround Sound.

    Mods:
    -2004 v70r suspension with 4c Delete
    -17in s80 Canopus alloys
    -2008+ center caps

    Pre-purchased mods awaiting installation:
-2004 v70r sport interior in Gobi.
    -Watch-Dial gauges from a 2007 xc70
    -2007 switchblade key
-BMW art car style thule adventurer.

There will be other mods like spacers (obviously according to the pics) and other cool/rare volvo oem parts I can get my hands on. This wont be totally slammed as its my Daily and I live on the dirt road in the pics but one of these days I'll buy something that I really can go all out on. My neighbor has a pagoda 280sl that might just look the part if bagged

BTW the dollhouse definately isnt mine!

Even though this isn't that low according to your standards I love it and hope gauge you guys reactions!

BTW, does anyone here know if I can run 10.5 in wide wheels in the rear of this thing? I know that I would need adapters but I'm not sure of how much rim these fender wells can take. One of my dads real estate agents has a 94 r129 sl600 that has died due to a wiring harness problem and she is willing to sell me the 18in MAE Crown Jewels for an absolute steal!

Dear god, that thing looks AMAZING! I'm also in SoCal (Studio City, LA) so if you ever want to cruise with a 300zx...
      Z32's rule! So do (surprisingly) non-leaking T-Tops

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm new to this site so would I be executed if I were to start a build thread to document this?

You have to use the exact same wheels and tires all around, or it will destroy your diff in no time. On a stock one it's even recommended to change wheels from front to back every 6 months. The AWD in these things can't handle any weird offsets or any difference in the front and back.

So get some 17 or 18x9.5s squared and go from there. Not a fan of the current wheel, but the car loooks good overall

            progress IS a slow process

I know that the awd systems are fragile in these things already so I'll probably keep from putting the mae's on this unless I rebuild the rear ones to be 8.5 like the fronts.
