  • LY3D Mk3 from England

    Hey what's up StanceWorks.

Just thought I'd share a few pictures of my first car, a 1995 Volkswagen Golf MK3 in Tornado Red that has only covered 17.3k original miles (she had 16.2k when I bought her).

This is how she sat when I got her a few weeks before Christmas 2k13.

I'm rocking these stock wheels whilst I save up for some coilovers and wheels.

Unfortunately, she has a few dents, the biggest one being this one on the boot.

The black textured bumpers, I'm thinking of painting them body color, but I want some US Spec GTI bumpers.

A few shots of the practically brand new interior, she has never been smoked in, no tears or scratches on the interior, still has the original Sony CD Player, but it doesn't play CD's :

And last but not least, a shot of the engine bay:

I haven't really done that many mods to her as I am saving up for some Coilovers (budget spec so Joms, TA Technix or FK's) and some Rota BM8's (shakotan). Currently, she is stock apart from some Team Heko Wind deflectors, white over red tailights, and a couple of club stickers.

A build thread will be started when I get some coilovers for her

    See you guys soon,

    Yorkie.

I'm on a budget buddy, I like the looks of the BM8's, and haven't seen a MK3 with them on before.

As for budget lows, I'm trying to decide what coils to get for her.

I love mk3 golfs, so I'm in to see this thing.

And those L plates make me laugh every time I see one. A friend showed it to me when I was out there because she had to put it on her car, and it looked like it'd be so embarrassing. Here, people would be bigger assholes to you on the road if they saw that.

And as far as budget coils, I don't know if you can get them shipped out there, but if so, WRD coilovers ride really well. I have them on my MK4 and love them.

          Thanks

I passed my test 4th try :P so i've been driving this thing for the sake of driving lol. Half my wages are going to petrol every 3 weeks <_<

I've narrowed it down to 3 brands, Jom, TA Technix and FK AK Streets.

Heard the same from other people about TA's. My mate had some FK AK Streetlines on his Bora and he was pleased with the ride.

With my Golf I'm not looking to run it on the floor as the roads around my are shite, so I was thinking a 35-40mm drop all round.

Once you get used to it being lowered, you will wanna lower it more the roads out here suck too, you just get used to it. 40mm really isn't that far, you'll see once you drive it around a bit.
