Whats up StanceWorks community, my name is Ryan and i'm currently a senior at CSU East Bay majoring in Finance and ITM. I've browsed thru these forums periodically and haven't felt the need to sign up because I wasn't really into stancing out my previous car (2002 Audi TT Quattro). Now that i've brought my 84' 300sd turbo diesel back from the dead (been sitting for about 5 years with faulty glow plugs) its running better than it has ever been since it's been purchased from it's original owner. Whats interesting about this car is that it was purchased from my parent's friend who actually purchased the car brand new at Claridge's Mercedes in Fremont, CA so its been a bay area car all its life! The diesel was a hand me down once I was legally able to drive, and back then I really didn't care for it because it was extremely slow..Moms in their minivans were passing me up! Now after plenty of speeding tickets that I got while driving my Audi, and with age i've grown a special bond towards older cars, and more specifically my ol 300sd. It's currently at 170 k, the interior needs some work, as far as exterior goes the clear coat is pretty much toast on the hood, as well as the roof. My plans for this tank would be to replace the old fuel injectors with a fresh set and adjust the valves (will be doing this tonight, should have been done 70k miles ago!) Once the engine is running up to spec, I will be replacing the rear shocks with a set of Bilstien HD shocks which are sitting in the garage collecting dust (fronts were replaced at around 130k with same Bilstien HD shocks, I just got lazy and never got around to replacing the rears). Then i'll go the "baller on a budget route" and cut the springs as well as source out some lower profile white wall tires to go with the stock "bundtcake" 15" wheels. When I say lower profile I mean just a smidge less of sidewall because the tires I have now have massive sidewalls and I'm sure they would rub once the springs are cut. Then on to the interior. I'm currently sourcing out a new interior from a late model w126, preferably 1990 example, I plan on replacing the dashboard, entire wood trim, glovebox, driver door panels-they have speakers on the door cards which will look much cleaner instead of drilling in holes in the existing door card since I plan on adding two speakers to the 4 speaker setup which came stock). Once all that is taken care of, a nice set of wheels is up in order. A staggered setup 17x8 or 8.5 upfront and 17x10 or 10.5 in the rear
